Michael Stephen Nevarez passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 4, 2023 following a short illness.

Michael was born Oct 16, 1973 in Hayward, California to Lynda Moore and Max Nevarez. He grew up in Grass Valley and lived most of his adult life in San Francisco.

Michael will be sorely missed by all who loved him. He will be remembered for his love of family and his sense of humor. Michael was able to lighten even the darkest of times with humor. His ability to make his loved ones laugh helped them deal with his illness. He made sure he always connected with his family and friends. His iPhone was well used, making numerous calls a day.

Michael is survived by his son Max, his daughter Sarah, his sister Tricia Nevarez Soto (Mario), his brother David, his mother Lynda Moore, his stepmother Ellen Nevarez, his stepfather Bruce, his stepsister Kelly (Duncan), his aunts Olivia Nevarez (Henry), Lilia Rodriguez (Oscar), Chela Stoklosa (Raymond), Rose Nevarez , Janetta McMullen, his uncles Rodolfo Nevarez (Kathy) and Paul Holloway, and numerous cousins. He was preceded by his father Max, his grandparents Max Sr and Socorro Nevarez, Sam and Virginia Holloway, his uncles Gus, Beto, David, and Timothy and his aunt Martha.

A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
