William (Bill) White, beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Sunday, July 12, in San Carlos, Ca. Bill was born March 7, 1941 in Dunsmuir, California. He grew up in Castella and Sweetbriar, attending Castle Rock and Slate Creek elementary schools, Dunsmuir High School, and Chico State College. He was active in sports, music, drama, and student government.
Bill’s artistic talents were best showcased during his thirty years at the San Francisco museums where he served as Director of Exhibition and Design. His characteristic sensitivity and respect were always present in his many exhibits, most especially the King Tut, the Dresden, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and many more.
Bill is survived by his sister, Verna Franchi, nieces and nephews Caryn Matter, Kevin Franchi, Jennifer Maupin, Richard White, Randall White, Justin White, three great nephews and three great-great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Evelyn and Vernon White, and his brother, Richard White.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 1:00 p.m at Crippen and Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. Burial will be August 29th at Mt. Shasta Cemetery, 830 Larsen Lane.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
