Tom was the living embodiment of a stand-up guy. He made everyone he knew feel comfortable and loved. Thomas Bolger, age 71, of Belmont, California, died of complications from a heart attack on December 2, 2023.
He was born in Monesson, Pennsylvania in 1952 to Edward and Pauline Bolger. He attended Righetti High School before studying Business Administration at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and completing his MBA at Santa Clara University. He worked as a Chief Financial Officer for over 40 years. First, at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, then Sonoma Valley Hospital, and finally retiring from Chinese Hospital in San Francisco in 2016.
Tom met the love of his life, Jean Lee in 1965, in junior high school. They were married September 1, 1973 in Santa Maria, California. They settled in Belmont in 1980. He was blessed with two wonderful children, Kelly and Kyle, and two grandchildren, Josephine and Bode by Kelly and her husband Aaron. Tom and his wife Jean just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Tom will always be remembered for his kindness, strength, and monumental impact on those who knew him. He would do anything for family and friends. He was an incredible father, husband, brother, son, friend and grandfather. He was his happiest around friends and family, listening to The Rolling Stones or Tom Petty, biking, skiing, surfing, hiking, traveling, or being around his grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest. He was the rock of his family. Tom will be dearly missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him and had the honor to know him.
Tom was preceded in death by parents Pauline and Edward Bolger, and his sister Ellen Costilow. He is survived by his wife Jean, his daughter Kelly, his son Kyle, his son-in-law Aaron, and his two grandchildren Josephine and Bode, also his brothers, Edward F. Bolger, Robert Bolger, and Patrick Bolger.
