Terrie
Mckenna
November 23, 1956 – December 16, 2022
Remembering Terrie...
Terrie was born in San Francisco, California in 1956. She was the second of four children to Bruce and Helen McKenna. Terrie showed her colorful personality at a very young age, a personality that would shine for her entire life. Those who knew her best, knew that she had the biggest heart. She lived her life for those she loved, shining her light and kindness on her family and friends.
Terrie pursued a career in nursing, graduating from College of San Mateo in 1979. She described herself as "one happy girl" when she graduated, with the world before her. Terrie continued her nursing career until she absolutely had to retire, due to her health. Terrie loved being a nurse, she was proud of her profession that brought her so much joy.
At 24, Terrie welcomed her first child, Vanessa and soon after, Tiffany, then her third and last child, Daniel. Motherhood brought Terrie immense joy, she adored her children and stayed close with them throughout her life. Later, Terrie welcomed her second grandchild, Theodore and Delilah. Terrie doted on her grandchildren every chance she had, showering them with gifts and love.
Terrie had a passion for writing and wrote throughout her life. One of her stories, "Chew Your Water" was published in "Right Words at the Right Time" by Marlo Thomas in 2006. She was very passionate about politics, a passion she shared with her mother. Until Helen's passing in 2014, they were both devoted to their daily morning phone calls with each other.
Terrie faced so many trials with her health, defeating cancer decades beyond her life expectancy. She never let illness dictate her life. She loved unconditionally, a true spirit of love and forgiveness. There was no hate in Terrie's heart, and she leaves behind so many lives that she touched. She always spoke of angels and light, and now that she's gone, she will forever be our Angel.
