Papadakis Jr., Spiros Nicholas "Bud"


Resident of San Carlos At rest on March 10, 2009 at the age of 56, after a heroic four year battle with Wegener's Granulomatosis and bone cancer. Predeceased by his father Spiros "Bud" Sr. in 2001 and father-in-law Paul Pera in 1982. Bud is survived by Lorrie, his devoted wife of 33 years, son Spiros III (April), daughter Giana, mother Ann, sister Marie (Vince) Russo, mother-in-law Norine Pera, grandsons Spiros IV and Benjamin, sisters-in-law Lynie (Mark) DelBono, Leslie (Mike) McGarry and five nieces and nephews. Bud was a devoted son, husband, father, Papa, and uncle, and a passionate lover of the game of baseball. He will be remembered for his exploits on the field as a player at Terra Nova High School, Pacifica, where he received All-League and All -County honors in baseball, basketball, and football; College of San Mateo where he also excelled in all three sports; and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where Bud played on the #2 ranked college baseball team in the nation with such greats as Ozzie Smith and Mike Krukow. Bud brought his expertise to the baseball diamond as a coach and mentor to countless young men throughout the Peninsula, particularly San Carlos youth baseball, coaching at Sequoia High School, winning a League and CCS Championships and Joe DiMaggio, winning 3 State Championships.
