Obituary

Our beloved courageous warrior, Scott Harrison Brink, age 52, of Fernley, Nevada, went to be with his Father in heaven on February 4, 2023 in Redwood City, California. Scott was born on August 24, 1970 in Mountain View, California, the son of Sharon Haag and the late Randy Brink.

Scott had a heart of gold, a goofy sense of humor, and an insatiable curiosity. He was a true Renaissance man in his own right. It's probably easier to describe what Scott wasn't interested in! He earned his ham radio license in 1996 with the call sign KC7STV and was a white hat hacker in training. Scott had a million hobbies and interests, including geo caching, camping, volunteering for the Special Olympics, running communications for races, volunteer examiner for ham radio, and supporter of the Lyon county Sheriff's Office and Fire Department. In his spare time, Scott built computers to give to people who could not afford them. Scott never missed an opportunity to express his deep appreciation for law enforcement, first responders, and armed service members. Affixed atop his favorite hat, he would hand out American flag pins to veterans and military service members he met on his travels. He was always there to help anyone and everyone in need and would literally give you the shirt off his back.  His funny hats, pranks, goofy t-shirts, and overall great sense of humor kept us all laughing.

He was brilliant with computers and everything electronic. He earned an Associates degree in electronic engineering and computer repair from CCNN Career College of Northern Nevada. Scott worked for Panasonic Energy North America, where he produced the cells that make up the batteries for Tesla vehicles and Power Walls. For Halloween he put his electronic brain to work creating an amazing annual outdoor display complete with talking pumpkins and silent horror films.  Scott took great pride in decorating his home for Christmas, and "going all out to make the neighborhood sparkle".

From the time he was an infant, he spent summers on the sand and surf of Aptos Beach.  After completing high school in California, he moved to Reno, Nevada, where he met his soul mate and wife, Becky (Harvey) Brink. Scott was a devoted and loving "fur daddy" and family man.

He was one of God's finest works, joking all the way to the end of his short but amazing life.

Scott is survived by: Wife, Becky Brink of Fernley, Nevada. Mother, Sharon Haag of Redwood City, California. Sister, Sherri Gazay of Maricopa, Arizona. Brother, Ryan Brink of Paso Robles, California. Nephew, Chase Brink. Friend, Jeremy Dunn of Oroville, California.  Aunts Lesley and Carrol, Uncle Bruce, and beloved cousins.
