Paula Lee Frediani, 65, of Belmont, California, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long illness with metastatic breast cancer. She fought the disease with her signature tenacity and grace.

Paula was born in Paris, France, to Raymond and Lillian Frediani. She grew up in Paris and Rome and became fluent in French and Italian. She later graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor's degree in marketing. She spent more than 20 years at Intuit, where she was a senior marketing manager.

Paula married Jonathan Fisher on August 24, 1997, and they shared 29 years of marriage. She loved her family deeply and showed it in practical ways. She was the planner in the family, always keeping lists of things to do, things to pack, and places to go. She remembered details everyone else would have missed.

Paula had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She also loved to travel. When she was younger, she traveled extensively and could recall trips from 20 or 30 years earlier in extraordinary detail. Whenever a faraway place appeared on television, Paula often said, "I've been there." It became a favorite family joke, and before long everyone tried to say it first. In later years, she and Jonathan enjoyed many trips around California. Napa, Monterey, and Disneyland were among her favorite places.

Paula was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels, and a lifelong tennis fan. The tennis majors were must-watch for her, while Jonathan followed the golf majors. There were almost always sports on in the house. When her illness made reading too difficult, the Tennis Channel was on all the time.

She also adored Mochi, the little dog who became her constant companion. Mochi came to Paula from a friend in her cancer community who had passed away. From then on, Mochi was very much Paula's dog. A true lap dog, Mochi was rarely far from her and became an important part of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lillian Frediani.

Paula is survived by her husband, Jonathan Fisher; their children, Matthew and Sarah; her siblings, David Frediani (Mary), Francesca Novak (the late Gary), and Alan Frediani; extended family; many friends; and her beloved dog, Mochi.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Paula's memory be made to METAvivor (metavivor.org), an organization dedicated to funding research for metastatic breast cancer.

In accordance with Paula's wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date, with details to be shared once plans have been made
