Martha Rowley Young, a resident of Redwood City, CA for the past five years and formerly a
resident of San Mateo, San Carlos, and Cool, CA for approximately 67 years, passed away in
the loving arms of our Lord where she resided in Redwood City on January 29, 2025, at the age
of 87. Daughter of Richard and Agnes Rowley, Martha was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on
December 8,1937. Martha had three siblings, Richard, William, and Kathleen Rowley. She is
survived by her children: Linda Moyer, Richard Young, Cathrine Nakano, Michelle Baeza,
Christopher Young, Daniel Young, John Young, Joseph Young, Mary Hanlon, Tony Young, Roy
Young, Theresa Young, her sister, Kathleen Sullivan, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren,
and many nieces and nephews.

Martha grew up in San Mateo, CA, and attended St. Catherine's Catholic School and Mercy
High School, graduating in 1956. After graduating high school, she started her first job as an
operator for a telephone company. Martha married Michael Young on June 15, 1957, and had
their first daughter the following year, followed by 11 other children. They bought their first home
in San Carlos in 1960 where they raised 12 children and grandchildren for the next 43 years.
With the strong Catholic faith that Martha shared with her husband Mike who was a Deacon with
the Catholic Church, Martha spent several years as a Catechism teacher at St. Charles Church
and St. Bruno's Church. In 2003 Martha and Mike decided to retire to Auburn, CA, where they
lived for a year, and then purchased a home in Cool, CA where they lived for the next 13 years.

Martha stayed active with her church in Auburn where she was involved with her prayer groups
and helped her friends by driving them to doctor's appointments and taking them shopping. She
also supported her husband Deacon Mike in his Ministry duties during their time in the Auburn
area. Over the years of her life, Martha loved to travel to the Holy Lands and take mission trips
to Mexico with the church youth group where she cooked food for the entire crew. She also had
a love for animals and has raised a plethora of cats, dogs, donkeys, chickens, and goats.
Martha had a great laugh and could light up the room.
