Maria Mason Lester, 92 passed away on February 13, 2026 at Oakmont Assisted Living in Redwood City. She was the widow of Howard Lester who shared a wonderful life together.
Born in Genova, Italy she was the daughter of Domenico and Caterena Cademartori. She graduated high school in Italy and came to the United States when she was 18.
Maria was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and great grandmother who loved her family. She was a devote Catholic at St. Pius and loved her church fellowship, Italian Federation fellowship and her Senior's fellowship. She loved her friends, gardening, flowers, cooking and baking. She was the staple on her Norman Street block where she lived for 65 years before moving into Assisted Living.
She is survived by her children Cathy Caserza-Light (estranged), Ronald Mason, Kathy Mason (Daughter-in-law), Deanna Cistone-Pettit, Bryan Pettit (Son-in-law), and Michael Mason (deceased). Her grandchildren Bridgette Mason, Rochelle Felise, Dennis Caserza, Rachelle Caserza, William Cistone and wife Meliza Cistone, Janna Cistone and Makenize Mason. Her great grandchildren Guiliani and Isabella (Bridgette) and Harper (Janna).
The funeral services will be held at St. Pius on February 23 at 11:00. Viewing will be from 11:00 to 11:30 followed by Mass with interment at Alta Mesa Cemetery
