Obituary

Maria De Jesus Rodriguez de Segura, a resident of Redwood City, Ca, passed away peacefully in her home on March 23, 2021 at 64 years of age.

Maria also known as "Chuy" by her loved ones was born to Paula Naranjo and Marcos Rodriguez in the town of Cofradia de Duendes, Jalisco, Mexico on June 8, 1956.

After being married to Jose Manuel Segura in November 1976, she migrated to Pescadero, Ca in July 1977 where they had their first son Jose Jr a few months later. She dedicated 5 years to being a stay at home mom to their first-born and in 1982 began working at Bay City Flower Company in Half Moon Bay, CA where she remained for 32 years all while becoming a mother to 3 additional children (daughter, Marisol and sons, Jaime and Mario).

Maria enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also loved gardening and spent most of her free time knitting. Aside from being a mother, she found great happiness in becoming a grandmother.   A woman with a strong faith in God, she was always able to provide words of encouragement regardless of what obstacles she faced herself. She was a woman of extraordinary strength and resilience.

She is survived by her husband (Jose Manuel Segura), three sons (Jose, Jaime, Mario), one daughter (Marisol), 3 grandsons (Dwayne, Isaac, Mateo), her siblings (Rosalio, Francisco, Juan and Maria) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and cousins.

María también conocida como "Chuy" por sus seres queridos nació de Paula Naranjo y Marcos Rodríguez en el rancho de Cofradía de Duendes, Jalisco, México el 8 de Junio de 1956.

Después de casarse con José Manuel Segura en Noviembre de 1976, emigró a Pescadero, Ca en Julio de 1977, donde tuvieron a su primer hijo José Jr unos meses después. Ella dedicó 5 años a ser ama de casa de su primogénito y en 1982 comenzó a trabajar en Bay City Flower Company en Half Moon Bay, CA, donde permaneció durante 32 años mientras se convertía en madre de 3 hijos adicionales (hija, Marisol e hijos, Jaime y Mario).

María disfrutaba cocinar para su familia y sus amistades. Le encantaba cuidar sus plantas y pasaba gran parte de su tiempo libre cosiendo. Además de ser madre, encontró una gran felicidad al convertirse en abuela. Una mujer con gran fe en Dios, siempre brindó palabras de aliento sin importar los obstáculos que enfrentara. Ella era una mujer de extraordinaria fuerza y ​​resistencia.

Le sobreviven su esposo (José Manuel Segura), tres hijos (José, Jaime, Mario), una hija (Marisol), 3 nietos (Dwayne, Isaac, Mateo), sus hermanos (Rosalio, Francisco, Juan y María), sobrino(as) y primo(as).
