Marguerite N
Richardson
August 31, 1923 – January 15, 2022
Marguerite "Margie" Richardson of Redwood City passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 98. She is survived by her sons Michael and Patrick, grandson Thomas and his wife Karen, granddaughter Susan her husband Kenneth, and her great grandson Andrew.
Born August 31, 1923, in the Philippines to Thomas and Alice Wirth, the family moved to California in the 1930s, soon settling in Redwood City. After attending a local grammar school, she graduated from Sequoia High School in 1942, where she met her husband-to-be Henry "Hank" Richardson.
She and Hank lived their lives in Redwood City, where they raised their two sons. After Mike and Pat began attending grammar school at Mount Carmel, she became a long-time member and dedicated volunteer at Mount Carmel Church and School. Active in her local community, Marguerite enjoyed volunteering at Mount Carmel events, playing bingo, and participating in pinochle club. She and Hank took their RV around the country for decades, visiting friends and family, checking out national parks, and taking their grandchildren and great-grandson on trips to Disneyland. After Hank passed away, she joined and remained involved with Good Grief, a grief support group. She continually helped bring people together, including organizing high school reunions well after the 50-year mark. Joyfully competitive, she was always ready to sit down and beat anyone in a game of cards.
Marguerite was undoubtably a positive influence on many people's lives. She was funny, kind, selfless, loving… too many wonderful qualities to list. Those who knew her couldn't help but to love her. Her family and friends are sad that she's gone, relieved that she's at peace, and joyful that she is reunited with those she loves in heaven.
