Obituary

Margaret Patricia Fama passed away peacefully in Redwood City, CA at age 101.   Peg was
born at home in San Francisco's Noe Valley to Michael and Mary Conway on July 6, 1924.  Peg
was the 9th  and last surviving of Michael and Mary's 11 children.   She attended the then all-girls
St. Paul's Catholic School in San Francisco graduating in 1942.  During WWII, Peg worked at
the US Army Induction Center in San Francisco.
In 1946, Peg met the love of her life, Dominic ("Mim") Fama, at a St Patrick's Day dance at the
Palace Hotel in San Francisco. They married in January 1947 and had been married for 68
years at the time of Mim's death in 2015.  Peg and Mim settled in San Francisco and started
their family.   They moved to the sunshine of Redwood City in 1957.
Peg was a devoted parishioner of St. Pius Catholic Church, a member of St. Pius Women's
Club and a lifelong member of the Young Ladies Institute #124.
She is survived by her five children Larry Fama (Linda), Margaret Gustafson (Russell), Gene
Fama, Laurie Powers (Terry) and Patti Fama (Joe Fava).   She was a beloved Granny to her
grandchildren Marcello Fama (Sarah), Dominic Fama (Maddie Rock), Rossanna Hennessey
(Adam), Russell Gustafson III (Melissa), Katie Silver (John), Sharon Mitchell (Garrett), Gina
Fama (Ben Cobb), Taryn Powers (Dan Marcus), Ryan Roller (Lauren), William Roller (Terah
Lyons), Jamie Walsh (Tim) and Joe Fava, Jr. (Lauren) and to her great grandchildren Wyatt
Rock Fama, Anna, Abigail, Alivia and Afton Hennessey, Bryndin and Jayce Silver, Hunter and
Molly Mitchell, Rylen Cobb, Gus, Charlie and Lexi Gustafson, Kathryn and Brendan Walsh and
Sophia Fava. She also leaves behind many Conway, Fama and Totaro nieces and nephews.
Remembrance and Funeral Mass planned for January 10, 2026, at 10:30am, St. Pius Catholic
Church, 1100 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA.  Interment will be private.
