Lorenzo Anthony
Maimone
Feb 8, 2000 — Aug 2, 2020
It is with great heartache and profound sadness that the family of Lorenzo Anthony Maimone announce his passing at the age of 20 on August 2, 2020. Lorenzo lived in San Rafael at the time of his death, and had attended Woodside Elementary School, D.Tech High School, and Kehillah High School.
Lorenzo will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as brilliant, witty, and compassionate. He saw beauty all around him and captured it in photography and poetry. Lorenzo loved and nurtured plants, animals, and especially those whom others had mistreated. He had a heart for the homeless, and enjoyed serving at shelters, providing smiles and encouragement along with warm meals. Lorenzo traveled extensively and embraced every adventure with a sense of wonder and enthusiasm. Whether under the seas scuba diving, exploring ancient ruins, or camping in the wilderness, he never failed to seek out and appreciate fascinating things that others missed. Lorenzo was also a tech savant, always willing to help us out when we were confounded by malfunctioning electronics. We will miss him more than words can express.
Lorenzo is survived by his parents Bill and Leslie of Woodside and his sisters Marissa and Julia. He also leaves his grandparents, Newton and Mary Lou Durboraw of Scottsdale, AZ and Anthony Maimone of Smithtown, NY. In light of Covid-19 restrictions, his family has postponed plans for a celebration of life until it is safe for family members and friends to travel and join in person. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to LifeMoves in Palo Alto, where Lorenzo served and befriended the homeless community.
