Obituary

Linda was an Opera Singer, a Wagnerian Soprano, and needed full Orchestra or Pipe Organ to accompany her tremendous voice. Sometimes, if the church organ was not available, she would practice at Pizza-and-Pipes with the mighty Wurlitzer just so she could rehearse at full volume before performances. The diners eating pizza and drinking beer would cheer and stand and applause!
Born in Deveraux, Georgia to Helen and T.L. Sheridan. Her parents were dedicated Christian missionaries, and at the age of 9, her Family went to Belgium to learn French before going to the Belgian Congo for 6 years, where in Rathey Acadamy boarding school with her two brothers they also learned to speak Kingwana Swahili. She graduated college from Bob Jones University and was recruited to California in 1964 to teach elementary school, where she met her Husband, got married, and had two children. She started teaching music in the elementary school system and continued her music career education by completing a master's degree in music. In her 40s, her voice came into focus, and she pursued a classically trained operatic career, singing in stage productions, and Church soloist performances, and included years of singing in the San Francisco Opera. She shared her experience and knowledge by teaching voice and piano and starting the Singer's Registry talent agency. She continued teaching voice and piano until a recent fierce battle with pneumonia. She passed away at the age of 83.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas, and Jonathan, and three grandchildren, Nina, Justin, and Joshua. We will all miss her.
