Obituary

Kay Lois Haigh passed way after a long illness on May 13, 2024, she was 83. She was the youngest daughter of George and Mary (Feldman) Haigh.

Kay was a longtime resident of Redwood City, where she attended Sequoia High School.

She married and raised her two sons on her own after her divorce from Jerry Bush. She worked throughout her life, working her way up to senior loan officer at Bank of America. She trained many workers over the decades, including men who made more money than she did, in an era when that was the way things were. She had a quick wit and an eye for style and detail and was a good friend to many.

Kay loved shopping for antiques in Niles, gardening, trips to Solvang and Soquel, cooking delicious meals, baking holiday treats, volunteering at the local library bookstore and at The Family Tree. She loved animals and had many cats over the years and cared for strays and rescue kitties.

Kay was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Haigh, for whom she was a devoted caregiver for in their final years, and by her brother Richard Haigh, and her dear friend of over 60 years Bob Cossick.

She is survived by her devoted sons Mark Haigh and Steven Bush, her sister-in-law Nancy Haigh, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves behind her sweet cat Emily Nightingale Rottenpants, and her turtle Sparky.

Kay will always be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, the many life lessons and history she taught, and her love of animals. Every kitty, squirrel and bird for miles around will miss her generosity and gentle spirit.

The family would like to thank all her doctors and caregivers for their kindness and help, and her many friends and family who reached out in difficult times.

We love you to the moon and back Mom, thank you for all you did for us and taught us. Fly high.

At her request there will be no services.
