Obituary

Joyce Lauren Mary Martinez passed away peacefully at her home in Redwood City, California on December 19, 2021.   Joyce endured Parkinson's disease and pulmonary disorders for many years, facing the pain with a positive attitude and the support of her family.

Joyce was born in San Francisco, California on July 29, 1945.  The daughter of Ernest and Laura Lotti, Joyce is the 6th of 10 children, including Louie, Catherine, Lois, George, Dave, Paul and Mary, who joined God before her, and is survived by her brothers Ernie and Art Lotti.

Joyce graduated from Mission High School, where she met Gilbert, her husband of 58 years.  They have two loving sons – Gilbert and Lance, and their wives– Michelle and Ann-Marie, and five wonderful grandchildren – Francesca, Madelyn, Sophia, Abigail and William.

Joyce was a friend to many, including the friendships she made on Montwood Circle, while working at Ross, and while attending countless recitals, soccer, baseball, and softball games. She made friends everywhere she went, always kind, curious and genuine. Joyce was an avid collector with a love of home decorating, gardening, puzzle making and all the latest kitchen fads and gadgets; teaching and sharing these passions with her family.

Some people only walk this earth for a short time, their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.  Joyce with your newfound wings; we will continue to feel your presence, love and support.

A service will be held on Tuesday, December 28 th at St. Pius Church in Redwood City, CA.  Viewing at 10:30am, followed by a Rosary and the Mass will begin at 11:30am.  Joyce will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Menlo Park.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association https://www.apdaparkinson.org or via mail at PO Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306
