Fare
May 20, 1942 – October 5, 2025
Joseph "Joe" Steven Fare, born on May 20, 1942, in Argentina to Carlos and Antonia Fare, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025.
As a young boy, Joe and his parents moved to San Francisco, where he attended Sacred Heart High School. It was during these years that he met the love of his life, Elaine, who would become his lifelong partner and best friend.
Following his education, Joe attended trade school and pursued his passion for building, becoming a skilled contractor and later founding his own company, JSF Construction. Known throughout the Bay Area for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, Joe contributed to some of San Francisco's most iconic landmarks, including work on the Transamerica and Bank of America buildings-leaving a legacy of dedication, precision, and pride in his work.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joe was an adventurer at heart. He loved traveling the world-visiting family in Mexico, exploring Italy and Spain, experiencing new places and cultures.
An outdoorsman through and through, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping trips with his children, creating countless memories surrounded by nature.
Of all his achievements, Joe was proudest of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Fare; his children, Lisa (Bob) and Steve (Gloria); and his beloved grandchildren, Jenna, Angelina, Dominic, Julianna, and Mario-each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Joe's life was one of hard work, deep love, and adventure. His legacy lives on in the family he built, the friendships he cherished, and the mark he left on the city he helped shape.
