He is survived by his loving wife Jovita Maldonado, their children, Jose Luis, Raul, Marilu, Miguel, Roberto, Leticia, Alicia, twenty-two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
He volunteered at St. Anthony's Church where he taught Baptismal classes to parents with his wife, Jovita, for twenty years. He was also involved with the Movimiento Familiar Cristiano group for thirty years. Jose enjoyed listening to music, traveling, watching sports, especially soccer, and spending time with his family.
