John passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 14th, 2026. He was the youngest of four children born to Annie and Spiros Pappas.

He was born in San Francisco, resided in Daly City, then moved to Belmont in 1976. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing with his sons and grandsons. The family spent many summers camping in Guerneville on the Russian River.

After serving in the Korean War, John worked in a wood shop making custom furniture. He then worked for the City of Daly City as a Street and Sidewalk inspector and retired in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jutta (2011). He is survived by his sons Mark (Anne), John (Laura Lisa) and Michael (Susan) and grandsons Andrew, Stephen and Derek.

Services will be held at Crippen and Flynn in Belmont on Saturday, August 15th, at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the USO or any organization that supports Veterans and Military families.
