John Paul Marra born in Bronx, New York on May 29,1951 moved to San Francisco in 1960 with his mother and siblings. John's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was endlessly devoted to his wife, Sue, of 26 years and their two sons, Seth and Gabe. He was so very proud of his son's accomplishments, and the fine young men they will continue to become. John was a spirit of strength and generosity to all those around him. He was our one selfless constant. John's magnetic and charismatic personality made him the bond of his communities. He is survived by his wife, Sue; sons Seth and Gabe; older siblings Marguerite Puglisi, George Marra, and Sophia Chester. Son of deceased father John Marra; parents Sophia Marra-Conley & Robert Conley.
John truly loved feeling the wind upon his face while riding his Harley with all of his wonderful best friends.
His thirty-year career as an elevator mechanic in the IUEC Local 8 was one his greatest pleasures. If there were a tombstone it would read, "Damn, I wish I could have worked one more day." John lost his battle with cancer much too soon on April 27, 2009. Funeral Mass Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10am. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Belmont, CA.
