Jessica was a Redwood City native for 39 years. She was born at Kaiser, Redwood City, and it was a surprise to everyone when doctors realized that she had Spina bifida. She attended Clifford Elementary and Woodside High School. Despite innumerable hospitalizations and surgeries throughout her lifetime, she was an eternal optimist, and persevered through unimaginable circumstances. Her determination and love of life was an inspiration to everyone who met her. From a young age, Jessie was everyone's friend. She loved her people and the neighborhood where she lived her entire life and had a close knit circle of friends that she was proud to call "family". "JJ" spent several years working at Henry Ford as a yard duty supervisor until her health declined. She loved the interaction with the Henry Ford community and the students, especially the little ones. We would like to think that her presence had a positive impact on the students, many of whom had never even talked to a person in a wheelchair. Her greatest joy was being "Titi" to her young nieces and she kept everyone updated on their accomplishments. She loved everything in nature, the ocean, camping and fishing (but not sharks). Jessica passed away due to complications from Spina bifida at Kaiser in Redwood City. She is survived by her parents, Nancy and Keith, sister and brother in law Kristen and Kyle, and nieces, Adalynn, Taylor, and Leah, sister Susan in Michigan, as well as her beloved dog, Riley. Special thanks to the many faces of Kaiser who cheered her on throughout her life. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, March 10 @ 2:00 PM. at the Elks Lodge in Emerald Hills.
