Obituary

January 3, 1970—December 3, 2021

Greg Mikulik passed away suddenly from a pulmonary embolism at the age of 51 in the early morning of December 3, 2021. Born in San Francisco to Richard and Helen Mikulik  January 3, 1970, he was raised in San Mateo and graduated from Burlingame High School.

Greg worked for the last 26 years at JSI and Omni international shipping companies. He was caring, thoughtful, and conscientious and loved by his co-workers. He was environmentally-conscious and a good citizen who was always up-to-date on local and world affairs. He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved all the Bay Area sports teams: 49ers, Warriors, Giants, and Sharks. An avid collector of sports memorabilia, he accumulated an extensive collection over the years. He also liked to attend festivals, fairs, and other events. Gardening was another hobby he enjoyed.

Greg traveled extensively with his family. In recent years he joined the family on cruises to Alaska, Spain, and Italy. They traveled together to Arizona for Giants spring training, and to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Colorado. Last month they all vacationed in Palm Desert and attended a Giants/Padres game in San Diego.

Greg is survived by his parents Richard and Helen of San Mateo, brother Jeff Mikulik of Belmont, sister Janet Parella (Tony) of Walnut Creek, sister Sandy Mikulik (Mario) of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, nephew Nicholas Parella and niece Laura Parella, aunt Cathy (Toby deceased) Tobiassen, Aloha, OR, aunt Carol (Benjamin) Hsu of Colbert, WA, aunt Phyllis (Jim deceased) Mikulik, uncle Andrew Redovian of Burlingame, and many cousins. He was pre-deceased by uncle Martin (Irene) Redovian, and aunt Mary (Ed) Obloy.

Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Crippen & Flynn Carlmont Chapel, 1111 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. Viewing begins at 4 pm, followed by a memorial service (Panachida) at 6 pm.
