Gloria May
Dradi
May 22, 1928 – March 4, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria May Dradi, who peacefully left this world on March 4, 2025, at the age of 96. She passed away in her San Carlos home of over 60 years, surrounded by her loving family and her devoted caregiver, Mehi, who became a cherished part of our family.
Born in San Francisco on May 22, 1928, Gloria spent her early years in the city where she met the love of her life, Lou (Poppa Louie) Dradi. Together, they built a beautiful life, moving to San Carlos shortly after Lou opened Lifetime Muffler in Redwood City. Gloria managed the books while Lou ran the shop, and through hard work and devotion, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.
Family was everything to Gloria. Her home was the heart of every celebration, where she hosted countless gatherings, big and small, filling them with warmth, love, and the best home-cooked meals. Days were spent by the pool or making treasured family memories at their Lake Tahoe cabin, where she and Lou spent their retirement summers. She loved cooking, entertaining, and the occasional trip to the casino, always embracing life with joy and generosity.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Louis Dradi, and her dear sisters, Ellie and Lorraine. She is survived by her four daughters, Cathy, Luanne, Lisa, and Angel; her nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina, Lucia, Daniel, Gino, Jamie, Malia, Lucas, and Julia; and her twelve great-grandchildren, Jack, Logan, Andria, Dani, Lucy, Nathan, Conor, Eden, Josiah, Luca, Gianna, and Makaia-each of whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Gloria's life:
Viewing: March 23, 2025, from 3 PM - 7 PM with a Rosary at 6 PM at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City
Funeral Mass: March 24, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 880 Tamarack Ave, San Carlos
Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1500 Mission Rd, Colma
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria's honor to St. Jude Hospital, Pathways Hospice, or The Parkinson's Foundation.
Gloria's home was filled with love, laughter, and a sign created by her grandchildren that read:
"FAMILY - We may not have it all together, but together, we have it all."
That was the essence of Gloria-her greatest joy was in the love and togetherness of her family. Her spirit and legacy of love will remain in our hearts forever.
