Gina Ganette Conti

Gina Ganette Conti (née Marsigli), a beloved wife, mother, nonna, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2026, at the age of 78. The sudden loss has left our family heartbroken, and we are deeply grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, calls, texts, and visits.

Born in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley on November 2, 1947, to Joseph and Virginia Marsigli, Gina grew up in the heart of the city she adored. Her life transformed forever on June 18, 1966, when a friend's broken-down car led to a chance trip to Caffe Trieste and a spontaneous afternoon at Playland at the Beach. It was love at first sight for Claudio, a young Italian immigrant instantly captivated by Gina’s sweet smile, signature beehive hair, and vibrant spirit. Welcomed with open arms by Claudio’s family, Gina’s deep devotion for him inspired her to master Italian within a year, ensuring she would never miss a single moment of shared warmth and family chatter. The sweethearts eloped to Boise, Idaho, marrying on April 21, 1967.

They began their life together on Campbell Avenue in San Francisco, where they were overjoyed to learn they were expecting their firstborn. To accommodate their growing family, they purchased a home on 87th Street in Broadmoor, where they welcomed Joseph and later completed their family with the birth of their daughter, Claudia. After working seven years as an operations supervisor at Del Monte Foods, Gina joyfully spent five treasured years pouring her heart into her home and raising her children. She later shared her artistic spirit with the world as a gifted florist at Castagnola Florist, bringing beauty to every bouquet she touched.

Gina’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her family and friends, her warmth, amazing family meals, wine cake, and the beauty she brought into every room. She leaves behind her adoring husband of 59 years, Claudio Conti; her children, Joseph (Beth) Conti and Claudia Conti; her cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Joey (Allie), Ava (21), and Vittorio (2); and her precious great-grandchildren, Anthony (12), Jackson (5), Jordan (5), Emerson (4), and Brady (1).

Refreshingly honest, quick with a witty remark, and fiercely protective of those she held dear, Gina lived with a gentle heart and unmatched resilience. Gina created a world where friends were like family. Her unconditional love leaves a legacy that will live on forever in all who knew her.

We are profoundly grateful that our entire family spent the day before together, celebrating Ava’s 21st birthday. Sharing that joyful milestone as a family is a gift we will cherish forever.

A viewing will be held at Crippen & Flynn in Redwood City on August 31st beginning at 3:00 p.m., with the Rosary from 6:00–7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held September 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius Church in Redwood City.

In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization Gina supported faithfully, just as her mother Virginia did.
