Forrest Joseph
Kittoe
January 18, 1939 – April 19, 2025
Forrest Joseph Kittoe (aka Bud), Age 86, Redwood City, CA passed away in his home
of 60 years on April 19, 2025. Beloved Husband to Janet Kittoe for 64 years. Born in
OshKosh, Wisconsin on January 18,1939 to Forrest Lavern & Genevieve Catherine
(Monahan) Kittoe. Bud went to Osh Gosh High School, played baseball, football and
sang in the acapella choir. He learned the love of fishing from his father. Growing up
was also active in Scouting and grew up with a Cocker Spaniel named Dusty. Later on,
Janet & Bud adopted a Cocker Spaniel and named him Dusty. The story of how Forrest
got his nickname Bud was from his older sister who could not pronounce his name.
Forrest served in The Reserve of the United States Marine Corp. and attended an
Aviation Mechanical school in Janesville, WI.
Bud met Janet Dorothy Kraemer when she was a student nurse in Osh Kosh, WI. Bud
was one of Janet's patients. Bud got his first and only job with United Airlines in San
Francisco, CA. Janet left her hometown of Green Bay, WI and followed him out to
California and they married in the catholic faith @ St. Catherine's on June 10,1961 in
Burlingame, CA. Moved to Redwood City a couple years later and made it their happy
home for 60 years. Just, shy of celebrating 65 years together.
While living in Redwood City Bud enjoyed playing the position of catcher on a men's
softball league for the team sponsored by Round Table Pizza, season ticket holders for
many years cheering on the 49ers, planned many camping and fishing adventures
together. Traveled lots of the US in a luxury RV to favorite places like, Osh Kosh air
shows. Often would drive the RV to a certain spot, vacation then park the RV and fly
home to work. Then fly back to the parked RV and drive to a new destination and do it
all over again. One of their longer trips was driving to the Upper Peninsula of MI,
Copper Harbor for a special reunion on Janet's side of the family (Kraemer).
Bud worked for United Airlines for 40 years. He was considered one of the top
mechanics holding the higher rank of Head Mechanic.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, older Sister Rachael Ray, brother-in-law Mike
Scott, and brother-in-law Patrick L. Kraemer. He is survived by his loving wife Janet
Dorothy (Kraemer) Kittoe, younger sister Kathy Scott, brother-in-law Tom Ray and
sister-in-law Linda Kraemer and by numerous nieces & nephews: and grandnieces &
grandnephews.
