Eugene Jong-Wie Hwan (Gene) passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 18, 2026 at the age of 89. Beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his son, Steve, and his brother, Kiat (Martha) Hwan. Gene was gentle, kind, intelligent, and generous. He loved his family deeply. Gene was an Electrical Engineer. He was a tinkerer and an audiophile. He loved driving his BMWs and admired classic cars. After he bravely faced and overcame prostate cancer, he chose to retire. When he retired, he was the Director of RF Development at Digital Microwave Corporation. In retirement, he and Marilyn took up golf and traveled the world on cruises(and he liked assembling photo albums of their travels) for more than 15 years. He also enjoyed musicals, symphonies, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and Whirly Word.
