Obituary

Elena passed away peacefully with family on January 12th, 2024.
She was born in San Francisco and then raised in Boulder Creek, CA by her mother, Mary Sciacca along with her brother Sal Sciacca and sister Rosalie Sciacca (Carlson). This is where she gained a love for the country and horses. She was an accomplished horse rider and was the youngest person to ride at the Grand National Rodeo.
Elena moved to Redwood City in the early 1950's where she met many lifelong friends while working at Bank of America, and then her husband George Kelly, whom she married in 1960. They moved to San Carlos in 1961, raising their two children.

Having lived in her home on the "Cul-de-Sac" for 63 years, she had wonderful neighbors she was proud to call her dear friends.
Elena worked for over 20 years at the College of San Mateo in the registration office and would always get a kick out of past students recognizing her when she was out running errands and say "hey you're the CSM lady that got me into my class".
There are so many things that Elena's family and friends will miss about her, but what will be missed most will be the impeccable timing of her wit and humor, which she still had minutes before her peaceful passing.

She is survived by her son Kevin Kelly (Mary) of El Dorado Hills; daughter Colleen Kelly-Cirimele (Rick) of San Carlos; granddaughter Nicole Kelly-Kukis (Andy) of Folsom;
grandson Ryan Kelly of San Diego; great grandson Campbell Kukis - Folsom; grandchildren Lucca; Gina and Tony Cirimele of San Carlos; along with nieces and nephews from the Kelly/Carlson/Sciacca families.

In Elena's true low key style, she asked for no services. The family will accompany her to Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma where she will be rejoined with husband George.

The family would like to recognize Charlotte Gonzales M.D. & Ramon Ramirez III M.D. for their excellent care and non-stop support, along with Mission Hospice House in Redwood City whose care, comfort and grace is unmatched and truly indescribable.

Family asks donations be made to: Mission Hospice, 66 Bovet Road Suite 100, San Mateo, CA 94402 or at Missionhospice.org
Or any charity of your choice
