Elaine Lois
Teixeira
February 14, 1931 – March 17, 2025
After a life well lived, known for her generosity, intelligence, and witty sense of humor, Elaine Lois Teixeira passed away peacefully at her home in Redwood City on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2025, at the age of 94.
A native of Moss Beach, she was born to Angelo and Lena Martini on St. Valentine's Day, February 14, 1931. She graduated as valedictorian of her class from Half Moon Bay High School and attended UC Berkeley University, before marrying Anthony "Tony" Teixeira in 1949. They raised two children, a son Kevin and a daughter Stacy in Moss Beach and then Redwood City.
Elaine loved researching family history in Italy and on the Coastside, contributing to books about Moss Beach history. She enjoyed sharing her life and stories with her family and friends, using the telephone & email to keep everyone connected across the country. Elaine was employed at San Mateo County for many years. She cherished her active roles in class reunions, the Sons of Italy Lodge, IDES Society, Brotherhood of St. Anthony's, and SCORPA (SM County Retirement Assn.).
Elaine was always ready for an adventure to travel whether in the US, abroad or boarding a cruise ship. She developed that love of travel in her family, with many shared vacations as children and adults.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband Tony; her siblings Raymond (Cathy) Martini, and Gloria (Russell) Bernardo; her in-laws Guido Santini, John (Hazel) Teixeira, Hazel (Larry) Cornett, and Mary (Ed) Schuttloffel. She is survived by her children Kevin (Terri) Teixeira, and Stacy (Lee) Smathers; grandchildren Jesse and Sophia Teixeira; her sister Loretta Santini; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Forever in our hearts, Elaine will be remembered as a person full of life, laughter, and endless stories.
