Dyanne S. Gavin

 Dyanne Sharon Gavin passed on after a life filled with adventures and challenges that she met with determination, energy, curiosity - always on her own terms. She was an equestrian, a dancer of numerous styles, a public school teacher, an animal lover, and an ever-curious seeker of what might come next.

She collected experiences, ideas, websites, philosophies, and things - lots and lots of things. Dyanne approached life with curiosity and a desire to investigate, learn, and discover for herself.

In the later years of her life, Dyanne also built a vibrant world online. She had a significant online presence and formed friendships and connections with people near and far. The internet became a place where she could continue doing what came naturally to her—exploring new ideas, discovering new interests, sharing her thoughts, staying connected, and forming meaningful friendships. Many of the people she came to know online became an important part of her everyday life, and those friendships meant a great deal to her.

Dyanne was preceded in death by her beloved son, Christopher, and her parents, Carolyn and Mike. Surviving family members include her brother, Gregory; his wife, Bambi; their daughter, Hailey; and her aunt and uncle, Cheryl and Jeff.

Also mourning her loss are her devoted caregivers and dear friends, Alicia and Theresa. Though they came into Dyanne’s life as caregivers, their relationship grew into something much more. They became like family, sharing in her everyday life, her challenges, her adventures, and many treasured moments.

Dyanne also leaves behind a wide circle of friends, including many dear friends she came to know through her online community. Though some were separated from her by many miles, the friendships and connections they shared were very real and held an important place in Dyanne’s life.

Services for Dyanne will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Crippen & Flynn, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at Dyanne’s home on Virginia Avenue, where we will come together to share memories, stories, and celebrate a life that touched so many.
