Dorothy Patricia Nuti was born in November 1932 in San Jose, California. She passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024 at the age of 91. Dorothy was the beloved wife of Albert Nuti for 62 years until Albert's death in March 2020. Dorothy was the loving mother of Mark Nuti, Paul Nuti, and her daughter, Lisa Simpson, and the beloved mother-in-law of Maureen Nuti, Elizabeth Nuti, and Larry Simpson. She was the cherished grandmother of Lauren Quinn (Logan) and Meghan Nuti, Anna, Paul, and Eliza Nuti, and Christina Eklem (Christopher) and Joseph Simpson. She also was the dear great grandmother of Charlotte and Olivia Eklem.
Dorothy graduated from Notre Dame High School (San Jose) and San Jose State University. She was an elementary school teacher for many years in San Jose and South San Francisco. Dorothy was an avid reader and bridge player. She also loved to travel with Albert, and together they visited over 100 countries. She was immensely proud of her Italian heritage. She will be greatly missed, and she will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
A private committal service was held on May 3, 2024, and a memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation for San Mateo County Libraries, 125 Lessingia Court, San Mateo, CA 94402.
