Diana Li Templeton Killen, my true love and long time companion, lived a life full of fun and adventure. Diagnosed with stage 4 gastroesophageal cancer in early March of 2023 and given 3-5 months. However, the oncogene driver was druggable and, with the addition of radiotherapy, we had 2+ wonderful years with many trips to her favorite Big Island interspersed with a couple of Yosemite adventures. During that time, she would say that "if I didn't know I had cancer I wouldn't know I had cancer". But S4 is seldom, if ever, curable. Upon returning from Hawaii in March of 2025 she began to deteriorate. A newer immunotherapy failed to stem the tide and she died under hospice care. Diana wasn't sentimental and wanted no part of formal services or long, overwrought encomiums. However, she loved to lunch and liked my idea of hosting lunches with various "kinship" groups. As for me, she was my shining star and I will miss her more than I can say. En avant toute!
