Obituary

Costanza Alviti, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. Born in Veroli, Italy, to Anna and Antonio Lanzi, Costanza's early life was defined by the challenges of World War II and a steadfast commitment to her loved ones.

In 1945, she married Francesco Alviti. Following the war, while Francesco sought work abroad to support the family, Costanza showed her characteristic grit, working as a nanny in Sicily. In 1957, she and her young son, Ezio, emigrated to California to reunite with Francesco, eventually settling in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Costanza and Francesco were proud to become U.S. citizens five years later.

A woman of modest means but immense spirit, Costanza was a fierce advocate for her children's education. She spent countless hours at the local library, ensuring her children had every resource necessary to achieve their goals. Her home in Lincoln Heights remained the heart of her family for over sixty years, and she was instrumental in helping her sister Lina's family relocate to the same neighborhood in 1970.

In 2021, Costanza moved to Emerald Hills in Northern California to be closer to her son and granddaughter. Her final years were filled with the joy of watching her family grow, particularly with the arrival of her two great-granddaughters.

Costanza was predeceased by her husband, Francesco, in 1992, her daughter, Linda, in 2017, and her brother, Costantino. She is survived by her sisters, Lina and Rosina; her son, Ezio; her granddaughter, Abby (Jon); and her two great-granddaughters, Harper and Noe.
Her legacy of resilience, sacrifice, and love will be forever cherished by those who knew her.
