Charlene Rose Chanteloup, beloved Mother, Noni, Wife, Auntie, and Sister, passed away peacefully with her family by her side April 10th, 2025. Born on October 21,1940, Charlene filled her years with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She is now reunited with her loving husband, Peter J. Chanteloup, Battalion Chief at Menlo Park Fire. She was a dedicated mother to Michele (Mike) Sweeney and Patricia (Greg) Royse, and a proud Noni to her cherished grandchildren: Stephen, Megan, Joseph, Lindsay, and Lauren.
A San Mateo native, Charlene made Palo Alto her home for over 65 years, building a life filled with family, friends, and community.
She was a passionate volunteer, giving her time generously to the Children's Health Council Auxiliary as President and Board Director. Charlene especially enjoyed serving alongside her beloved therapy dog, Molly. Her dedication to helping others and her enthusiasm for community service left an enduring impact on everyone she touched. Charlene thrived as a realtor, earning the trust and admiration of clients through her warmth and genuine connection to people.
Charlene's joy for life was evident in her warm demeanor and the genuine affection she showed toward her family, friends, and neighbors. Whether hosting a family gathering, lending a listening ear, or working behind the scenes to help those in need, Charlene embodied compassion and grace and will be deeply missed.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers at Oakmont and Sequoia Hospital who supported Charlene over the past ten years, and especially in her final days.
A memorial service for Charlene Rose Chanteloup will be at 10 a.m. on April 28th, 2025 at Nativity Church in Menlo Park, California.
