Obituary

Friday, November 11, in the early evening, Barbara (Bobbie) A. Baker fell asleep in death. She leaves behind a half sister, countless Star Trek fans, and many congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Bobbie had a speech impediment but was sharp as a tack. She graduated from Sequoia High School in 1957. In 1974, she married Thomas G. Baker and went into the hospitality business in Bear Valley as a maid. Thomas taught her how to paint, and she assisted him in his business. She learned how to drive in 1990, and she was an avid book worm. Her grandmother, Bessie, taught her how to embroider and she loved to cook. Bobbie never met a dog she couldn't love. Trish was her favorite black Terrier. Her love of animals started in Indiana, where she was born on March 11, 1941. Having lived on a farm, she was not afraid of hard work or getting up with the sun. She moved to California in 1950. She loved the Bible and started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses shortly after her marriage. Bobbie was baptized July 17, 1979. As a Jehovah's Witness, she found the true meaning of family and dearly loved her spiritual brothers and sisters. When she buried her husband, Thomas, in 1991, she bought the plot next to him. In life, as well as death, Bobbie wanted to stand by her man and her dog. In the Resurrection, we will look forward to her Bobbie hugs and shy kisses on the cheek. She will be missed and will awaken to a gentler, kinder World in unity and peace.
