Obituary

Anita Bellatorre passed away on Friday, September 19th, surrounded by her daughters and grandsons. Born in Redwood City on Easter Sunday, 1943, to Frank and Elsie Fantozzi, she earned her lifelong nickname "Bunny."
She was the loving mother of Gina Furrer (Mark) and Jennifer Munsey (John) and devoted grandmother to Devin, Jack, Lucas, Garrett, Brett, and Carson. A true Redwood City native, Bunny attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and was part of the first graduating class at Holy Cross High School in Mountain View.
Bunny worked at Levy Bros. in Redwood City, where her elegance and style made her a natural model for their fashion shows and print ads. In 1989, she became office manager at Stanford Consulting Group, forming friendships that lasted more than 30 years. She continued to work up until the week of her passing.

She thrived in the role of grandmother, whether at a sporting event or keeping time with the bass player in a rock band, Bunny never missed the chance to cheer for her boys and share in their accomplishments. She spent her Fall weekends with her lifelong friends, "the grannies," watching football, checking their fantasy team, and rooting for the Forty-Niners.
Anita could have earned a gold medal if shopping were an Olympic sport. She always found the perfect outfit, decoration, or gift, and her eye for detail extended to her garden, which bloomed with flowers and herbs that brought her great joy.
Her home was a true gathering place, especially during the holidays. Halloween, one of her favorites, drew dozens of children and parents to celebrate together. She also cherished time with her sisters and their children during holidays and summer gatherings, creating memories filled with laughter and love, Italian-style, meaning delicious meals. Whatever the occasion, people loved being around her. Anita made everyone feel welcome, valued, and seen.
She and Ron enjoyed trying new restaurants and had a standing date on Saturdays to "get a bite" somewhere. After Ron's passing, she continued this tradition with her girlfriends. Anita loved visiting Maui. She and Ron planned yearly trips there with friends and family to listen to the waves and relax to the sway of the palm trees.

Her true "Happy Place" was Lake Tahoe. For over fifty years, she never missed a summer at her beautiful lake, surrounded by her children and grandsons, as well as friends who had become her summer family. Her favorite days were at the water's edge of Meeks Bay, gazing at the view she knew by heart.

Godspeed Mama
