Sandrini
September 3, 1933 – December 5, 2021
Andreina (Matteucci) Sandrini passed away peacefully the morning of December 5,
2021 at the age of 88.
Andreina was born on September 3, 1933 in the small town of Colle di Compito,
Lucca, Italy to Pasquale and Aladina Matteucci. At the age of 21, she came to
the United States with her father and one of her brothers and they made their home
in El Cerrito, California. Several years later, Renzo came to California and they
were married in 1960. Soon after, they moved to Redwood City where they raised
their two daughters.
While raising her daughters, Andreina was an excellent seamstress. She was
dedicated to creating and altering many beautiful garments for her clients,
including Lurline Matson Roth at Filoli Estate. She later worked at Stanford
Hospital for 18 years as a dietary aide. Andreina was a member of Sons of Italy,
Lucchesi Nel Mondo and Peninsula Italian American Social Club. She enjoyed
attending their gatherings and spending time with friends and family. Andreina
was humble and kind and loved by all.
Andreina is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Renzo, her daughters Lisa
and Monica, and her grand-doggie Oliver who she loved dearly. She is also
survived by her sister, Gina Lencioni and brothers Liliano (Adriana), Luigi
(Giulia), and sister-in-laws Ivana (her brother Angelo preceded in death) and Verna
Sandrini. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many relatives and
friends in the United States and Italy.
The Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 14 at
