Barbara Neal Ziems
1933 – 2007
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, following a brave battle with cancer, at the age of 74.
Barbara was born in London, UK, to the late Daniel J. Neal and Margrette Bullard. She grew up in London, Vermont, and Florida with her twin sister Alice and brother John, graduated from Rollins College, and settled in McLean, Virginia. Barbara was active in the Republican Party and co-owned a bookstore before enjoying a 21-year career working for the CIA. In 2003, she retired and moved to Benicia, California, to be nearer to her daughters and grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and sister above all else and is survived by her daughters Gretchen and Charlotte and her son Robert, as well as her grandchildren Daniel and Patsy.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend the services celebrating her life on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, 11am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 120 East J Street, in Benicia, Calif. Memorial contributions may be made in her loving memory to the American Cancer Society and/or the ALS Association.
